How Summit handles your information.
This privacy policy explains the current Summit Bookworks approach to collecting, using, and safeguarding personal information across the public site, diagnostic intake, and client workspace.
Effective date: April 17, 2026
What we collect
- Information you provide directly, including contact details, manuscript context, intake answers, billing details, and support requests.
- Workspace activity such as uploads, diagnostic submissions, project actions, and account preferences.
- Technical information like device, browser, IP address, and analytics events used to keep the product secure and improve the experience.
How we use information
- Deliver diagnostics, editorial guidance, concierge support, and account services.
- Operate billing, authentication, product analytics, and customer communications.
- Protect the platform, prevent misuse, and meet legal or contractual obligations.
Sharing and processors
Summit may share information with service providers that help run the platform, including hosting, authentication, payments, analytics, file storage, and communications tools. We only share what is reasonably necessary to operate the service and support client work.
We may also disclose information when required to comply with law, enforce agreements, or protect Summit, clients, or the public from misuse or security threats.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide services, maintain records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Manuscript materials and workspace data may be kept during active engagements and for a reasonable period afterward unless a different retention arrangement applies.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and operational safeguards, but no online system can guarantee absolute security. Clients should avoid submitting highly sensitive information that is unrelated to the engagement.
Your choices and rights
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to legal and operational requirements.
- Opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time.
- Ask questions about how your information is handled by contacting support before or during an engagement.
Need a data or policy clarification?
This is a solid first-pass legal scaffold for Summit, not a substitute for attorney review. If you need help or want to make a request related to your information, contact Summit support through the client workflow or public contact path.
